Joseph Jackson, pai de Michael Jackson, deu uma entrevista exclusiva a Roberto Cabrini, para o programa Repórter Record, que foi exibida na noite deste domingo (2). O encontro do jornalista com o mentor do grupo Jackson Five ocorreu no Hotel e Cassino Orleans, em Las Vegas (EUA). O Repórter Record ficou cara a cara com o polêmico pai do maior gênio da música pop, morto recentemente de circunstâncias misteriosas. E ainda estava presente Majestic, uma espécie de faz-tudo de Joe (secretário, segurança, amigo e mágico). Joe começou se arrumando, frente a um espelho, inclusive retocando o rosto com maquiagem, mostrando ser extremamente vaidoso. E sempre perguntava se estava bem, ao colocar seu chapéu. Entre outras coisas, ele negou que espancava o filho Michael, garantindo que só lhe dava umas palmadas quando ele merecia: “Fui um bom pai para todos e para Michael. Tinha dois empregos para manter meus nove filhos”, destacou. Sobre a suspeita de que Michael tenha sido assassinado, através do uso indevido de medicamentos, Joe admitiu acreditar nisso, porém, está cauteloso com relação às investigações: “Tinha um médico lá com ele e lhe deu algo. A polícia está investigando”. “Por enquanto, digo que foi um erro, imperícia, até que eu saiba de toda a história”. “Vou descobriu o que aconteceu com meu filho. Isso não pode ficar assim”. Sobre sua relação com o filho, que sempre o acusou de ser um pai que o maltratava e humilhava, Joe garantiu que era boa. Ainda conforme disse, a última vez que viu o filho foi três semanas antes de sua morte. Mas, se era assim, por que Michael não deixou nada para ele em seu testamento? “Eu não ligo para essas coisas. Ele deixou (herança) para a mãe, minha mulher”. Falar mais sobre o testamento, Joe se recusou, assim como sobre os netos, filhos de Michael.
